The Fat of the Land is the third studio album by The Prodigy. The album was released by XL Recordings on xxx June 1997 and on 1 July 1997 in the U.s.a. by Maverick Records. The anthology title comes from the old English phrase 'living off the fatty of the country', which means living well or being wealthy.
The Fat of the State has received critical acclaim. The album debuted at number one on the U.Due south. Billboard 200 nautical chart. The album has since gone double platinum, selling over 2 million copies in the U.S. In 1999, the album entered the Guinness World Records as the fastest-selling United kingdom of great britain and northern ireland trip the light fantastic anthology and was also nominated for a Grammy Award.
The album is included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before Yous Die. The album was besides nominated for the 1997 Mercury Music Prize.

From 1996 to 2000 I was working in a record store. As a rule, as "subculture heads" we were allowed to order and sell what our proposed target client (from our very personal agreement) would like to pick and buy.
At that time, in general another Prodigy album was mutually anticipated. Instead, a bunch of singles/EPs were published what served excellently only fabricated us gauge: if information technology weren't half of the tracks known already the anthology itself would be considered a masterpiece. Still, I have no idea why they published so many wonderful tracks before making this anthology available...

Mine has the aforementioned run outs every bit both 2012 pressings but no mention of 'made in___' either on the records or in a higher place the barcode. It has theprodigy.com rather than .co.uk beneath the barcode. Doesn't seem to be the same as any other edition on here. PRODIGY THE Fat OF THE Country XLLP 121 on spine. Anyone know which this is? Bootleg?

I'g going to repeat the consensus and say this pressing is perfection. Every bit good equally this music is ever gonna sound, and, yes, blows the CD out of the h2o. And I'm something of an dominance at that place considering I played the shit out of that CD in my room every bit a kid.

Could I trouble someone to take hold of me a picture of the spine and the characterization on the record please? I take what I believe to be the commencement press, merely the matrix doesn't match 100%. I therefore want to confirm that it definitely isn't this release.

Such a shame even this doesn't includes the Monkey Mafia's "Minefields" or Dirtchamber's "Diesel Power".Wouldn't touch the "Added" CD with a barge pole.

The reason this anthology was included in 1001 albums y'all must hear before you dice, must exist to sense how things were back at the time: lxxx% was well-nigh presentation, 20% well-nigh the music. Tailor made for readers of lads mags like "Loaded".

£100.... yeah £100..... for a mere belatedly variant repress of an existing black vinyl version on orange vinyl whose very articulate colour has a high chance of thus hiding the not make full defects and surface marks Optimal is now regularly producing?
